C R A M P’s great big gallery of racism!
I am having far more fun with these than I should. >.> If you’re going to fight oppression, might as well do it in a way that makes you laugh, right?
Congratulations! You’ve all taken/posted terribly racist, super disrespectful photos that stereotype and marginalize indigenous cultures.
i love this too much
Yes
How exactly is this racism? Maybe the like the culture.
Hello? its racist because a war bonnet isn’t a FUCKING fashion accessory.
On second thought, just go ahead and take their land, and I mean, while your there why not take their most important ceremonial tools and run around like idiots in them. but hey its okay because you “like” the culture. Which if you actually did you would do enough research to find out that they would pissed to see someone wear a war bonnet, when there bravest deed was probably shopping at Goodwill.
While it is extremely ignorant, keep in mind some people do have Native American in their roots.. I don’t feel like I’m allowed to express my pride of having Cherokee blood in me because I’m a little pasty white blonde girl with baby blues out of fear of someone calling me “racist” or ignorant.
It’s ignorant to wear a war bonnet as a fashion accessory but people should be allowed to express pride in their roots without being chastised for not having the genetic traits visible.. Maybe some of these women have native american in them, what they’re wearing could be something passed down in their family. Not likely, but still.. I know how I would feel if my face was on this for showing my heritage with pride.yes I agree on that, as I am part native as well, and look totally white, but if it were true pride, they would only wear such coveted items in ceremony and certainly not to a photoshoot! if any of these people are part native it makes me even sadder to see them misusing these items for the sake of fashion.
The only thing I can think to say to everyone that has reblogged this in anger is yeah, they might be ignorant assholes (the last picture especially) for not knowing their history, but I highly doubt they’re being purposely “racist”. People are looking too much into this, just saying. I’m not even trying to offend, but really?
